Time to Think about Life Insurance Once Again

Life Insurance

Once a year the life insurance industry celebrates this month to bring awareness of how important life insurance really is. September, is life insurance awareness month so don’t be surprised if you start hearing about it more often in the media and on the internet.

Many people procrastinate when it comes to owning life insurance of any kind. Typically, it’s a life event that will push us closer to investigating and getting educated to purchase the right type. Those life events can be getting married, buying a home, having a baby, sending out kids to college or even final expense planning for a funeral. There are so many different life events that our needs for life insurance typically change over time.

So why does only 62% of the population own life insurance? Even though more than 85% of that same population say they need it? Some of the reasons are there are several types of life insurance that can be purchased and the different types of policies can get confusing. The reality is, if you break it down, there’s really only two types. There is either temporary or “term” insurance and then there is permanent life insurance like whole life or universal.

The fact that you’re reading this blog means you’ve taken the first step to get educated on it., You probably haven’t bought it up to this point because you’re unsure of what type to get and how much. With the internet, the available information out there to help you make an informed decision is so much easier than it was years ago. With sites like the one, you’re only a phone call away away from taking that first step to getting the coverage you want, and the peace of mind your entire family needs.
