Fitness, Motivation and Tying it to Term Life Insurance
Did you know that when you shop for term life insurance you will come across insurance carriers with different requirements for health information? Were you aware that your health can determine whether or not your life insurance application will be approved and how much your final payment will be? This is why good health is very important.
There are some term life insurance applications that ask no health questions and have no health exams. Some only ask a few yes or no health-related questions. You may also find some fully underwritten applications which involve a mini health exam, health questions and a review of medical records (if needed).
Here are some thoughts and ideas to help improve your health and stay motivated, which is not always easy:
Use a fitness tracker. This is a device that you can carry in your pocket or wear like a bracelet. They track things such as the number of steps you take in a day and translate those steps into a measured distance. It is recommended that you should strive for 10,000 steps a day. So this is a great tool to help remind you to be active and see how many steps you can take in a day.
Do some light exercises during TV commercial breaks. You could do pushups or have light weights around and do some free weight exercises. Either way you’ll get up off the couch and get moving. Remember, some exercise is better than none!
Do you have a Nintendo Wii or similar game system? Why not swing that plastic golf club or tennis racket? This is a great way to have some fun and get exercise, as well as, get some steps in. You can also keep an exercise journal so that at the end of the week when you add up the time spent, you just may be surprised by how much time actually you put in!
We hope you’ve found these tips helpful and remember, your health plays a big part in obtaining the best price for term life insurance. We’d be happy to discuss these further with you while helping you obtain the best life insurance policy for your current situation.
