AIG Life Insurance Underwriting Considerations for Driving History
Many factors are taken into consideration by life insurance carriers when determining your final rate class. Your motor vehicle or driving history is one such factor. Why would the insurance carrier care about your driving history? That’s a good question. Dangerous driving could lead to accidents which could ultimately lead to your untimely passing.
As of today, if you have two or more DUI convictions on your Motor Vehicle Report within the last five years, American General may not consider you for life insurance coverage. However, if you have a single DUI greater than five years ago, it is possible to get a better rate class. Moving violations and other traffic infractions can also be taken into consideration.
At Pivot we realize that the amount of information required by a carrier’s underwriters can be overwhelming. We are here to help you navigate the rate class determination by making this process as easy as possible for you. When you have questions or just need clarification, the PivotCare team is always at your disposal. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further details.
