Life Insurance - National Women’s Health and Fitness Day
Ever wonder what your health has to do with the cost of your life insurance? When I heard National Women’s Health & Fitness Day was approaching, it made me think about the connection. According to Fitnessday.com, Women’s Health & Fitness Day is the nation’s largest annual health promotion event for women of all ages. Did you know health and fitness are instrumental in obtaining the best life insurance rates?
What will I do for National Women’s Health & Fitness Day? My usual workout routine on a Wednesday is a 1-hour barbell/weight training class then immediately afterwards, a 30-minute spin and 30-minute stability ball class. In honor of the event, not only will I do my usual workout routine, I will find a new healthy recipe to sample.
Healthy eating and participating in a regular exercise program can potentially provide low cholesterol and blood sugar levels, in addition to helping lower blood pressure rates. Your height/weight ratio should improve as well. When applying for life insurance, your medical exam will test for these levels and results. Usually, optimum lab results will result in a better rate class. Pivot has insurance carriers who will use a point system during the underwriting process. If you have a medical condition, but your lab results are normal or exceptional, you can actually get credits towards your underwriting rate.
If you missed the National Women’s Health & Fitness Day, do not worry! You can make up that day on Saturday, September 27, which happens to be Family Health & Fitness Day. There is not better reason to make plans for a family hike in a nearby park followed up with a healthy picnic lunch. Not only are you spending quality time with your family, you are promoting health and fitness with your loved ones. There is nothing more rewarding!
