It’s Not Easy to Be Me - Life of a Long Term Care Sales Agent

Long Term Care Insurance

In honor of Long Term Care (LTC) Insurance Awareness month, I thought I would write about what it takes to be an outstanding LTC Sales Agent. I wanted to give you an idea on how professional the staff here at Pivot is. We aren’t just born with the knowledge or expertise. We have to earn it every day. How do we do it? We earn designations like the CLTC (Certified in Long Term Care) and carry industry approved life and health licenses which all require extensive study and of course, a passing grade on any and all tests. Certifications and state licenses also require a certain number of on-going hours of continuing education in order to retain a certificate or a license.

I liken us to the mail man. We are as passionate as they are about what we do. The mail man boasts of delivering the mail in snow, in rain, in heat and gloom of night or just about any condition with no concern for personal welfare (now there’s passion), and the LTC sales agent can boast much the same. We are here every day, running quotes, looking up state Medicare/Medicaid laws, staying abreast of carrier product offerings and most importantly, talking with people. We are helping them figure out what to do about caring either for their aging parents or preparing a more protected future for themselves. We don’t stop until we’ve helped find a solution that meets the need.

Today there are more options than ever from single policies, spousal policies to bundled product policies. You add to that mix the state and federal laws and it can get very complicated very quickly. That’s where the PivotCare team LTC professionals come in. If the effects of aging are on your mind, we’d love to talk to you about your options and help you customize and tailor a solution that’s perfect for your unique situation.
