You Want to Save Money and Have a Lower Cost Life Insurance?

There are many reasons that you want and/or need life insurance. With regard to term insurance, some people don’t like the concept of it because if they don’t die, the insurer keeps all the money. Then it seems logical that if you’re a smoker your likelihood of dying could be greater, then potentially causing insurance to cost more. Whether you’re looking into term or permanent life insurance, smoking increases your chances of dying early and could potentially adversely effect your health. If you needed more reasons, here are 10 reasons to quit smoking. These are the main reasons I did!

1 – You could be a danger to others. 2nd hand smoke causes others around you, including the ones you love, to get sick.

2 – Experience life better. Quitting smoking will improve your sense of smell and taste.

3 – Improved performance. Smoking generally decreases athletic performance.

4 – Better health. You’ll have whiter teeth, and less chance for wrinkly skin and tooth decay. Smoking also can make your skin yellow.

5 – You won’t stink.

6 – The CDC says smoking causes lung and trachea cancer, as well as coronary heart disease, bronchitis and emphysema. Those things aren’t good.

7 – A nonsmoker’s life expectancy is a decade more than a smoker’s life expectancy.

8 – In most cases, you will be eligible for the best ratings on a life insurance policy after 5 years of no tobacco/nicotine use.

9 – Save money! The national average for a pack of cigarettes is $5.95 (it’s over $10 in NY). If you smoke a pack a day, you spend $2,171.75 a year on cigarettes!

10 – Save more money! Smokers can expect to pay more than double for the same amount and length of insurance than a nonsmoker.

I may not be able to help you quit smoking, but I can say that you can do it, I did. If you get a policy and quit down the road, you can apply for a rate reduction, which could lower your cost. You can get the coverage you need now and save money down the road. Don’t think it’s possible? Let me show you how.
